Defender of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Dmitry Simashev told that the Russian hockey player from Utah Mikhail Sergachev personally encouraged him to join the NHL.
Simashev was drafted by Arizona in 2023 with the sixth overall pick. Starting with the 2024/25 season, Arizona moved to Salt Lake City and was renamed Utah. The team was joined by Russian defender Mikhail Sergachev, who previously played for Tampa.
