Russian attacker Colorado Avalanche Valery Nichushkin was included in the team for the National Hockey League regular season game against Washington Capitals reports the NHL website.
The meeting will take place Friday in Denver, at the Avalanche arena. The 29-year-old Russian will play on the same line with American Casey Mittelstad and Canadian Jonathan Drouin, who returned to the lineup after missing 16 games with an upper-body injury.
Nichushkin has been undergoing the third stage of the NHL’s player assistance program since May. He was suspended from the team’s games and practices without pay for at least six months. On November 4, it was learned that he was allowed to practice with the team.
Colorado, with 18 points in 17 matches, is in ninth place in the Western Conference standings.
