Carolina goalie Kochetkov could miss Ottawa game with injury

Head coach “Caroline” Rod Bridamor reported that the participation of the goalkeeper of the Russian team Petra Kochetkova the next NHL regular season game against Ottawa remains uncertain.

Carolina will host Ottawa on Saturday. On Wednesday, Kochetkov could not finish the game against Utah (1:4) due to injury and left the ice in the third period. The nature of his injury was not specified. In the last meeting, Kochetkov’s seven-fight winning streak was snapped.

— Whether Kochetkov will participate in Saturday’s match is uncertain. “We will evaluate his condition in the near future,” Brindamour told the NHL’s official website.

Additionally, goalkeeper Frederik Andersen will not be able to play for Carolina. His recovery from a lower body injury has been slower than expected. Therefore, Spencer Martin will likely take his place in goal.

Carolina scored 22 points and ranks fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, Ottawa is tenth with 17 points.
