Torpedo boat trainer Larionov: “We need to attack at any site, then we will start hacking buses, trolleybuses and fortresses”

Head coach of Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” Igor Larionov after the defeat of Yaroslavl “Lokomotiv” said he did not consider the team’s current state to be unstable.

On Saturday, Torpedo lost to Yaroslavl with a score of 0:1 in a KHL regular season home match.

— You do not have a clearly defined first number. What do you think of the competition between goalkeepers?

— We have rivals which concern the two goalkeepers. Minsk is Kulbakov’s hometown, and Bocharov is in Yaroslavl.

—What do you think is the reason why the team has been in a storm lately?

— I don’t think it’s stormy. It’s a big word, it usually comes after alcohol.

All the matches are at stake. The table here is quite dense, there is no match after match. The middle of the season, where a certain fatigue accumulates. The guys clearly played to score a point. But that’s how fate decides.

— Would 0:0 be a fair result?

— We don’t want to play 0:0. The stands want to see goals.

For us, the result is a disappointment. And after missing a goal with such a bounce, it’s doubly offensive. Today we couldn’t get past the “bus”

—Isn’t it better to destroy the “bus” with your super-attack style, rather than admit your own helplessness?

“It’s always easier to defend than to attack.” Everyone has their own game system, they have the right to life. No matter how we play, we have to attack on any pitch. We will start hacking buses, trolleybuses and fortresses. We need luck,” reports the correspondent.

After 28 matches, the Nizhny Novgorod club has scored 31 points and ranks sixth in the Western Conference standings.
