Russian attacker “Washington” Alexander Ovechkin After scoring a double today in the NHL regular season road game against Utah, he added another feat to his list of achievements.
Ovechkin is the first player in NHL history to score 100 doubles (scoring two or more goals in a game) in regular season road games. Aside from Alexander, no one has reached the 90-take mark. Wayne Gretzky distinguished himself 83 times in this category, and Brett Hull – 72.
Throughout his NHL career, Ovechkin scored 177 doubles in regular season games. Only Gretzky has more (189).
Ovechkin has established himself in the race for the title of best sniper of the season with 15 goals in 18 games.
