The Russian Hockey Federation has announced the launch of the Russian Cup, a new tournament reserved for players aged up to 16, reports the press service of the Russian Hockey Federation.
The first Russian Cup will take place in the 2025/26 season. The tournament will bring together players representing the country’s leading children’s and youth schools and academies.
21 teams will participate in the new tournament: “Avangard” (Omsk), “Avtomobilist” (Yekaterinburg), “Admiral” (Vladivostok), “Ak Bars” (Kazan), AKM (Tula), “Amur” (Khabarovsk), “Vityaz (Podolsk), Dynamo (Minsk), Dynamo (Moscow), Dynamo (St. Petersburg), “Metallurg” (Magnitogorsk), “Metallurg” (Novokuznetsk), “Neftekhimik” (Nizhnekamsk), Moscow Hockey Academy, “Severstal » (Cherepovets), “Sibir” (Novosibirsk), SKA (St. Petersburg), “Spartak” (Moscow), Traktor (Chelyabinsk), CSKA (Moscow), Yugra (Khanty-Mansiysk).
The structure of the Russian Cup includes three group stages (in October, January and March). Based on the results, groups will be formed to participate in the final round: the top eight teams will participate in the “Golden Final”, the next eight in the “Silver” and the remaining five in the “Bronze”.
