Triple world champion Alexei Tereshchenko positively assessed the new tournament in the 3×3 format under the auspices of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
The presentation of the KHL 3×3 championship took place on Monday at the press center. Eight teams will participate in the tournament; The first ever KHL 3×3 championship will begin on December 19.
– It will be spectacular. Of course, the format is not classic, but perhaps it will be included in the program of the Olympic Games. Let’s see what comes of it. In my opinion, this is the right measure on the part of the league. It would be interesting to watch this tournament,” Tereshchenko said, as quoted by RB Sport.
The participants of the first season of the KHL 3×3 championship were Avangard (Omsk), Barys (Astana), Metallurg (Magnitogorsk), Salavat Yulaev (Ufa), Ak Bars (Kazan), Dynamo (Minsk), “Sibir” (Novosibirsk) and “Traktor” (Chelyabinsk). The tournament will take place from December 19 to July 13.
