NHL Boston Head Coach Jim Montgomery dismissed from office, reports the official website “Bruins” .
Today, team general manager Don Sweeney announced that Joe Sacco, Montgomery’s assistant, will serve as interim head coach. Montgomery has led the Boston team since July 1, 2022.
“I made a very difficult decision. Jim Montgomery is a very good NHL coach and an even better person. However, our team’s inconsistent performance through the first 20 games of the 2024-25 season is concerning and does not reflect what our fans deserve. I believe Joe Sacco has the coaching experience necessary to bring the players and team back to consistent results,” concluded Don Sweeney.
Boston suffered a big loss at home tonight Columbus Blue Jackets one of the outsiders of the season. The hosts lost 1:5, Russians Dmitry Voronkov and Egor Chinakhov scored one goal each.
