Double Olympic champion and multiple world hockey champion Boris Mikhailov became the winner of the National Sports Award in the “Epoch in Sports” category, reports a correspondent.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday in the building of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. The winner’s prize is one million rubles.
Honorary President of the ROC Vitaly Smirnov presented the award to Mikhailov.

The contenders for the prize were the Honored Coach of the USSR and Russia Elena Tchaikovskaya and the 12th world chess champion Anatoly Karpov.
The National Sports Prize was established by the Russian government in 2010.
