Berdniks, Karpenko and Krivonozhkin scored doubles in the capital team
Kyiv Capitals won a crushing home victory over Dnieper in the next regular season match Ukrainian hockey championship – 8:2.
The match took place in the capital of Ukraine, at the Chalett Ice Arena. As in their previous championship match (9:1 with Krizhinka), Vadim Shakhraichuk’s team did not leave much of a chance for their opponent. True, in the first period the underdog put up a decent fight, even managing to quickly level the score, but the hosts went into the first break with a two-goal advantage.
Sebastian Karpenko’s double in the second period quickly buried the rest of the intrigue. After that, Denis Berdniks and Andrey Krivonozhkin also scored a double. Nikita Oleynik has three assists to his name.
The victory allowed the capital team to overtake Storm and take first place in the championship. The Kherson team finishes the table, having lost all six matches.
