The governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, said that Lada will continue to play in the KHL and the regional authorities will create the necessary conditions for the club, including financial ones.
Fedorishchev noted that the decision was made at a meeting with Lada fans, which took place on Thursday.
— “Lada” will play in the KHL. We will do everything possible to strengthen our team and fight for the top places. To do this, we will create the necessary conditions for the club, particularly financial. Let’s find new major sponsors for the club. Support from the regional budget will remain and will be significant, but part of the funds will be redirected to the development of mass sports in Togliatti,” Fedorishchev wrote on the Telegram channel.
Last week, Lada general director Alexander Chebotarev told that the club had settled all salary arrears. On Tuesday, KHL President Alexei Morozov said in an interview with that the league had financial guarantees for three years that Lada would have the means to survive.
Lada occupies eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 25 points.
