Spartak hockey player Savikov explained why he was sent to the VHL

Defender of Moscow hockey “Spartacus” Yegor Savikov told that he was forced to play a match for farm club Rouge-Blanc due to illness.

At the start of the 2024/25 season, Savikov was one of the leaders of “Spartak” in terms of playing time; on November 10, he played a match with Voskresensk “Khimik” in the VHL; “Spartak”; in three matches after his return, Savikov scored three goals.

— In some matches at the beginning of the season, you were the best defender and leader of Spartak in terms of time spent on ice, and recently you were sent to the VHL. What was this related to?

— I fell very ill, we had a virus which was circulating on command at the time. At first, everyone thought I would spend even more time on sick leave. And they sent me to VHL to get in shape, it’s easier to do there. Thanks to this, I got out so early, after all, the disease seriously knocked me down, it’s good that my body reacted like that,” Savikov told .
