Russian goalkeeper “Caroline » Pierre Kochetkov was injured during the NHL regular season game against “Columbus ” (4:5B).
In overtime, Russian partner Sean Walker collided with the goaltender, knocking Kochetkov to the ice. He left the field, accompanied by a doctor, and never returned to the field.
In place of Kochetkov, Spencer Martin came on and played just over two minutes. Then Carolina lost in a shootout.
After the game, Hurricanes head coach Rod Brindamore said in a press conference that he did not yet have data on the severity of Kochetkov’s injury, noting that “it didn’t doesn’t look good.”
Earlier, another Carolina guard, Frederik Andersen, was out for several months and underwent knee surgery.
This season, Kochetkov, 25, has played in 13 matches, conceding an average of 2.42 goals per game and reflecting 90.4% of shots. He has 10 victories.
