The Canadian became the 21st player in league history to reach this mark
Attack Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby abandoned 600th puck V National Hockey League.
The 37-year-old Canadian scored in the second period of the match against Utah. The Penguins got a 5 on 3 power play, Sidney received a pass from Erik Karlsson and hit the goal with one touch. Let us note that the anniversary goal of their captain did not save Pittsburgh – the hosts lost crushingly (1:6).
Crosby became the 21st player in league history to reach 600 goals. Only seven times in history has a player succeeded in this, playing exclusively in one franchise. As part of Pittsburgh, such a result has been achieved to this day only by the legendary Mario Lemieux (690 goals).
Sidney surpassed 1,600 NHL points in October and now has 600 goals and 1,017 assists. Previously, the Penguins extended the contract with their captain until 2027.
Pittsburgh is in 14th place in the NHL’s Eastern Conference. The Penguins will next host Vancouver on November 28.
