A memorial plaque in honor of Honored Coach of the USSR Viktor Tikhonov was opened in Moscow

The official opening of a memorial plaque in honor of the Honored Coach of the USSR, a former hockey coach, took place in Moscow. CSKA and national teams of the USSR, CIS and Russia Viktor Tikhonov reports a correspondent from the scene.

The memorial plaque is located on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya Street, in the house where Tikhonov lived for a long time. The event coincides with the tenth anniversary of the specialist’s death.

The President of the Russian Hockey Federation (RFH) was present at the opening of the commemorative plaque. Vladislav Tretiak .

— Tikhonov is a big fan of our country. We remember a great man. How much did he earn? We played with him, against him. He did a lot for hockey, he brought the game to four lines. He was given the big job of leading the national team. Of course, the main thing is to remember him and train new coaches. Happy holiday, I declare the memorial plaque open,” reports the correspondent of , reporting Tretyak’s words.

Also present at the commemorative event was the Vice President of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Valery Kamensky and president of CSKA Igor Esmantovich .

— I will say thank you to Viktor Vasilyevich, who raised a generation of players. We respect and appreciate him. I wanted to say words of gratitude to him and to whom I played. “Great respect and reverence,” reports the correspondent, according to Kamensky’s words.

— Today is a difficult day for us. I would like to thank the entire league, our military, everyone. We are taking CSKA to the top in Russia and on the world stage. Our generation misses him. We lost time, we will try to recover it. We will use the policy of Viktor Vasilyevich. He helped, came and talked. He’s a great person and a great coach,” Esmantovich said.

The event was attended by the leaders of the Army Central Sports Club, PHC CSKA, Night Hockey League, as well as honored guests.
