Russian goalkeeper “Caroline” Pierre Kochetkov placed in the National Hockey League (NHL) concussion protocol after a regular season game against “Columbus” reports the club’s press service.
The meeting took place on Saturday in Columbus and ended with a victory for the hosts on penalties – 5:4. In overtime, Russian partner Sean Walker collided with the goaltender, knocking Kochetkov to the ice. He left the field, accompanied by a doctor, and never returned to the field.
Carolina’s press service notes that there is currently no specific time frame for Kochetkov’s return to the lineup.
“Some guys recover very quickly, and others take longer,” Carolina head coach Rod Brindamore commented on the Russian’s injury, as quoted by journalist Walt Ruff.
This season, Kochetkov, 25, has played in 13 matches, conceding an average of 2.42 goals per game and reflecting 90.4% of shots. He has 10 victories.
