Zadorov and Malkin fined for clash during Boston-Pittsburgh game

Defender “Boston” Nikita Zadorov and attacker “Pittsburgh” Evgeny Malkin fined five thousand dollars each for a clash during an NHL regular season game.

On Friday, Pittsburgh beat Boston 2-1 in an away game. At the end of the first period, Zadorov, while on the bench, thrust his stick into the back of Malkin, who was standing next to him. Malkin tried to send Zadorov away with his stick, but missed and hit another Boston defender – Mason Lorey . After that, the Russians were suspended for two minutes.

The NHL Department of Player Safety fined Zadorov and Malkin five thousand dollars.

Boston is ninth in the Eastern Conference standings with 25 points, Pittsburgh (22 points) is 14th in the East.
