Automotive Defender Darren Dietz admitted that he did not expect to receive an offer from the Yekaterinburg club.
On Sunday, the 31-year-old hockey player signed a contract with Avtomobilist until the end of this season.
— I am happy to join Avtomobilist, I am already ready to work.
— When do you plan to start?
— We will communicate with the technical staff, it will be their decision, it all depends on me, I will try.
— Was it unexpected to receive an offer from Avtomobilist? Did you think for a long time?
“I didn’t think for long, everything happens unexpectedly in hockey, it was nice to receive this invitation,” Dietz quotes the Avtomobilist press service.
Previously, Dietz, by mutual agreement of the parties, terminated the contract with Omsk Avangard. He also played for Barys and CSKA; as a member of the Moscow club, the defender won the Gagarin Cup twice.
