The coaching staff of the Ukrainian national ice hockey team announced the team composition for the World Ice Hockey Championship in Division B1. After a long training camp and four friendly matches, 22 hockey players remained on the national team.
The composition of the Ukrainian national ice hockey team:
Goalkeepers: Sergei Pisarenko (Dnepr), Dmitry Kubritsky (Falcon)
Defenders: Vsevolod Tolstushko, Denis Matusevich (both Kremenchuk), Igor Merezhko (no club), Ivan Litvinov (Vrchlabi Stadium, Czech Republic), Artem Grebenik (Bely Bars), Philipp Pangelov -Yuldashev, Vitaly Andreikov (both – “Donbass”).
Forward: Andrey Mikhnov, Dmitry Nimenko, Roman Blagoy, Evgeny Fadeev, Mikhail Simchuk (all – Sokol), Vitaly Lyalka (Pryashev, Slovakia), Mikhail Chikantsev (Kalix, Sweden), Oleksiy Vorona (Kremenchug), Denis Borodai (Bely Bars), Ilya Korenchuk, Oleksandr Peresunko, Felix Morozov (all – Donbass), Vadim Mazur (Mariupol).
It will be recalled that the World Ice Hockey Championship in division B1 started yesterday, but the Ukrainian team will play their opening match today, April 27. The opponent is the Serbian team, which has already lost 8: 0 by the Japanese team in the championship .
In addition, the Polish and Estonian teams will compete with the Ukrainians. Only the winner of the group will get the right to rise in the class.
