Acting head coach Sergei Zvyagin and coach Anton Kuryanov have left Avangard Omsk, the team’s press service reports.
The club clarified that the contracts were terminated by mutual consent of the parties. Andrei Podkonicki will be the head coach of the team.
Reed Boucher will then lead the team. The agreement with the 53-year-old specialist runs until the end of the 2025/26 season. He will arrive in Omsk and receive the team in the first half of December. Boucher previously led the Tampa Bay Lightning (2010-2013) and Ottawa Senators (2016-2019) in the NHL.
Avangard has scored 28 points in 31 games and ranks ninth in the KHL Eastern Conference. On December 4, Omsk will host Sochi.
