Igor Shesterkin, 26, was recognized at the end of the season as the best regular season goaltender in the NHL. In the regular season of the 2021/22 season, Shesterkin played 53 matches in which his team scored 36 wins (the Russian had 6 clean sheets), with a reliability coefficient of 2.07 and 93, 5% shots saved.
The Rangers lost 2-4 to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup semifinals. Shesterkin conceded 51 goals in 20 playoff games.
