“Last season I went through some personal issues and I feel like I should be there for my family during that time. I love and respect the city of Columbus, the club and the fans, like everyone else. world. I really appreciate the support, help and sympathy I received from the team management, coaching staff, doctors, coaches and my teammates. It was a difficult decision , but it’s the best for me now,” said the 22-year-old hockey player.

The club’s general manager, Jarmo Kekalainen, noted that he recently had a lengthy conversation with Texier, during which the player said he was not currently ready to resume his NHL career.

“While we are disappointed that Tex is not joining us for the 2022/23 season as we had planned, his mental health and well-being remain our top priority and we will continue to support him in any way we can,” did he declare.

Next season, Columbus will not pay the player a salary, he will not be included in the club’s payroll. As part of an agreement between the club, the NHL, the AJLNH and the player Texier are authorized to sign a one-year contract with a European club.

Texier was selected by Columbus in the second round, 45th overall, in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. In total, as part of the team, he played 123 games in the regular NHL championships, scored 49 points (22 + 27).
