“Guys added to every game” – Sergey Fedorov on CSKA’s victory in the Moscow Mayor’s Cup

Head Coach CSKA Sergei Fedorov commented on the team’s victory in the Moscow Mayor’s Hockey Cup and noted that the army team deservedly won the tournament.

On Sunday, in the Mayor’s Cup final, CSKA beat China’s Kunlun Red Star 4:1.

– In the final of the tournament we met a serious opponent, – Fedorov told reporters. “But we used our moments just in time. We also played well off the puck – there were few dangerous moments on our doorstep. The guys deserved the victory today, they devoted themselves completely to the process, having played four matches in six days (just before the start of the Mayors’ Cup, CSKA met Spartak). The guys completely finished the program and acted better game after game. Even better than expected.

– After winning the Mayor’s Cup, do you approach the season with more confidence than a year ago?

– The main thing is that confidence does not turn into self-confidence. We are on the starting line before a very long season.

— Maxim Sorkin scored a goal today. Do you see him as one of the leaders of CSKA?

– Not only Maxim, but our whole team rolled a little because of these games. Today I saw an intense match, and I really liked it. The team is 22 players in the app, and I don’t want to point fingers at anyone. Because everyone should be a leader. In CSKA, each link has its own task. Everyone serves their purpose, so maybe someone is spending more time on the ice, someone less. But each player has an important role to play. And I wish Maxim health, and that he starts the season on the same positive note.

CSKA won the Moscow Mayor’s Cup for the fifth time. According to this indicator, the army team is surpassed only by Dynamo Moscow – seven wins.
