Athletistic/Hockey. Magnitogorsk sports director “Metallurg” Sergei Gomolyako believes that friendly tournaments in the preparation of teams for the regular KHL championship should be abandoned.
“We have to finish with the pre-season tournaments. We played the last game on April 30, we could go out on August 1 and only play 6-7 friendlies than playing these tournaments. There are no tournaments pre-season in the NHL, why are we playing them? You can think of other games, maybe western teams would be happy to come here for a game,” Gomolyako said.
In August, Metallurg has already played 9 friendlies. The last of them fell on August 27: in it, “Metallurg” beat Kazakh “Barys” on the road with the score 5:2.
