The agreement with the 54-year-old American will come into effect at the end of the 2023/24 season.
“Mike is one of the best coaches in the NHL and it was important for us to sign him on a long-term contract. He is a great leader who succeeds through communication, honesty and responsibility. We know Sally is committed to keeping the culture of winning here in Pittsburgh alive,” club general manager Ron Hextall said.
Under Sullivan’s leadership, the team won the Stanley Cup twice (2016, 2017). The specialist has worked with the Penguins since 2015.
