“The MHL is working to increase attendance” – KHL Vice President Alexander Guskov

One of the tasks of the Youth Hockey League (MHL) is to increase attendance at home games of teams, the league is working on this, said Alexander Guskov, KHL vice president for youth hockey.

The regular OLIMPBET MHL Championship begins on Saturday, September 3 with a match between the Kharlamov-2022 Cup finalists – SKA-1946 and the Red Army.

– Our championship is excellent, but there are nuances, especially in terms of attendance. The games are played in arenas initially of smaller capacity. We are working on it. But you also need to understand the financial terms of the clubs and, therefore, their capabilities.

The MHL is the basis of the hockey vertical. We pay great attention to the development of the championship. The season will take place in a new format, according to a new structure. I have already said more than once that this structure will increase the spectacularity of the championship. 5 teams will qualify for the playoffs. There will undoubtedly be a rotation at the end of each season, which will be a motivation for any team. We have a minimum number of days without hockey, but also a minimum number of games in one day,” Guskov said at a press conference.
