Offensive “Spartacus” Fyodor Svechkov in a conversation with a correspondent, he said that he would fight for a place in the main red and white team and admitted that he had not yet settled in Moscow.
On Tuesday, Spartak defeated Admiral in a KHL regular season home game (2:1). In this game, 19-year-old striker Fedor Svechkov, considered one of the future stars of Russian hockey, played for the red and white for the first time.
– I tried to do my best, to follow the training instructions, – says Svechkov about his first game for Spartak. “Maybe something went wrong, but I tried to do my job honestly.
– Have you already got used to Spartak and in general to the capital?
– Moscow, as a city, is still far away for me. I almost never go out. Several times I tried to get to Red Square, but the entrance there was closed due to concerts. Was at the Patriarchs. And also where the lanterns hang from above. I don’t remember what it’s called. And there are no problems in the team, everyone supports me and helps me.
Do you miss Peter?
– I really like it as a city. But now the time in Moscow is that of Petersburg. So I feel good.
– Will SKA be a special opponent for you this season?
– At SKA, the atmosphere would have been scandalous, even if I hadn’t played there before. And so I will also have additional motivation. But I have to listen to not only SKA, but in general for every game. I will try to prove my worth, I have to take my place in the team.
In 2021, Nashville selected Svechkov in the first round of the NHL Draft, 19th overall. Fedor spent last season in the SKA system, playing four KHL games.
