It is reported that the parties have reached an agreement for 8 years (the maximum possible in the NHL), according to which the hockey player will earn 8.125 million dollars per year. The new contract will come into effect from the 2023-2024 season. Kairu will play the upcoming season under the previous deal, under which he will earn $2.8 million this year.

Recall that in July the club issued a very similar contract (8 years and 8.125 million dollars per year) to striker Robert Thomas.
