NHL club forward Vegas Golden Knights Pavel Dorofeev spoke about his impressions of life in the United States, noting higher prices than in Russia.
Vegas in January 2021 signed Dorofeev to a three-year rookie contract. In the 2021/22 season, the Russian striker became the top scorer for the Knights farmer club in the AHL Henderson Silver Knights, in which he scored 52 points (27+25) in 63 regular season games.
“How do you like life in America, in Henderson?”
— Henderson is practically Las Vegas, it takes 20 minutes to get there by car. Vegas is a beautiful city, although I’ve never been anywhere else in the United States, other than, of course, to watch games. I also visited New York. The main impression is dear life. In general, everything is more expensive than in Russia.
Is inflation in the United States now noticeable?
– Especially not, only the price of gasoline has increased.
– Other Russian players say it’s hard to live on the AHL salary in America.
– Not to say that it is difficult, on the contrary it makes life difficult. On the AHL salary, you have to limit yourself somehow, even a little bit, Dorofeev told RB Sport.
