Rotenberg believes the current Russian hockey team would have a chance of beating Canada

First Vice-President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RHF) and head coach S.K.A. Romain Rotenberg answered the question who would be the strongest in the opposition of today’s teams Russia and Canada .

– If now the strongest teams of Russia and Canada faced each other, what would be the score?

– Victorious.

– But seriously?

– If you collect the best and prepare well, distribute an individual plan to everyone – there would be a chance. We played in 2016 at the World Cup in Toronto. There, head coach Oleg Znarok handed out an individual plan to everyone. But somewhere we were disappointed in the work on ourselves. And after the summer break, it was clear the Canadians were better prepared.

And so we played on equal terms, and the whole question was in preparation. After all, we could have beaten Canada,” Rotenberg told reporters.

On September 16, National Hockey League Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly announced the need to find a way for the Russian team to participate in the World Cup in 2024. It is expected that at least eight national teams will participate in the tournament, and matches will take place in North America and Europe.
