On Thursday, the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) announced the creation of the Russia 25 team, which will feature “young players with the prospect of qualifying for the 2026 Olympics”. “Russia 25” will participate in the tournament with the main Russian team, teams from Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Each hockey player will be visible not only to fans, but also to specialists. Team – an opportunity to raise the status of a player. Here, the organizers must put five. And hockey players themselves must understand that this is not for Rotenberg or Tretiak, but for themselves.
– What do you think of the fact that Rotenberg will lead the team?
– Rotenberg, with all his abilities, could live happily on the beach and engage in some kind of Formula 1. And he came to the hockey family not as an observer, but as an active character. There are mistakes, but everyone has them. Any action aimed at development must be accepted with respect and understanding. His energy is a good example for everyone.
Under Rotenberg, I coached the Stroygazmontazh team. He lined up with all the other guys, practiced, stuffed the bumps, got nervous, screamed and we became champions twice,” Novikov told RB Sport.
