President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov said he was not aware of the departure from Russia of the five-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming, the organization’s secretary general Anastasia Davydova .
– I can’t say anything about Davydova’s departure. She did not provide any documents and did not accompany a phone call. His powers also last until the Olympic Assembly (scheduled for December – approx. ed.).
ROC has accumulated such experience in recent years that any leader can replace another. I can’t call it a loss,” Pozdnyakov said at the Russia-Sports Power forum in Kemerovo.
Davydova won gold medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and was also part of the Russian team that won gold medals at the Olympics in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
The 39-year-old ex-athlete was elected general secretary of the ROC in May 2014, the same year the Anastasia Davydova Synchronized Swimming Center was opened.
