Prigoda: “I can’t say I was very nervous waiting to receive neutral status from World Aquatics”

Short course swimming world record holder Kirill Prigoda told he was not particularly nervous while waiting to secure neutral status for the World Cup in Budapest.

The World Short Course Swimming Championships will take place from December 10 to 15. Prigoda received neutral status from the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) to participate in this tournament.

— I can’t say I was very nervous about it, waiting to receive it. I was preparing for the Russian Championship and the Salnikov Cup. There is now an opportunity to compete in the World Championships. Pleasant, unexpected, good news for our entire swimming community. A nice New Year’s gift, so to speak.

— You achieved very good seconds for the Russian Championship. Was it difficult to motivate yourself to do this?

– My summer preparation was a little vague, and I didn’t have a complete performance at that time, but the short course of water was pleasant, easy, I managed to carry out my preparation successfully and to get a good result. My internal motivation was at a good level,” Prigoda told .
