Ukrainian Paralympic athletes opposed the participation of Russians in the competitions

The national teams made an appeal against the entry of athletes from the aggressor country into the tournaments.

The National Paralympic Teams of Ukraine in summer and winter sports have called for the extension of the disqualification of Russian and Belarusian Paralympic athletes from international competitions. This is stated in the official statement on the site.

The text expresses the indifference of the sports community of the aggressor countries for the atrocities and genocide of the Kremlin troops in Ukraine. In this regard, domestic Paralympic athletes demand that athletes from Russia and Belarus be prevented from participating in the competitions even under a neutral flag.

Russia’s terrible and deadly aggression against the Ukrainian people has been going on for 7 months.

In fact, the war unleashed by the Russian imperialists is not only against Ukraine, but the entire democratic world.

Russia has completely lost its reputation in the civilized world and is therefore thrown out of most international organizations.

And now, as a state, it has been thrown out of global sports, banned from participating in the absolute majority of international competitions.

But even today, despite the shock and horror of the fact that in the 21st century a war against the peaceful Ukrainian people could take place in the middle of Europe, Russia and its puppet Belarus are making a desperate attempt to return to the international that sports community.

Criminal and murderous methods such as “sponsorship” are used, and a cynical message is thrown to the world sports community: “Sport is not in politics”, destroying the humanitarian mission of world sport: “Sport for for the sake of peace, sport is the right and aspiration of all civilized nations to achieve world peace.”

Indifference to the values ​​of peace and indifference to massacres as a result of the aggression of uncivilized countries was confessed by individual subjects of international sports and the organizations they belong to, where Russian representatives were present in leadership.

They are the ones who call to forget the crimes against humanity committed by Russia and repeatedly ask the question of the entry of Russian and Belarusian athletes into international competitions.

The Russian and Belarusian sports community, unfortunately, does not see thousands of killed civilians in Ukraine.

And the Russian army is already trying not only to occupy Ukraine, but also to carry out the genocide of the Ukrainian people and erase Ukraine from the world map.

In this regard, Ukrainian Paralympic athletes say that today, against the backdrop of massacres by aggressors and terrorists, the issue of the return of Russia and Belarus to Paralympic sports cannot be discussed, as well as the variant of their performance under a neutral flag.

Today, the entire Ukrainian Paralympic community demands from all sports federations of international Paralympic sports a categorical non-admission of Russian and Belarusian sports representatives to participate in international sports.

We are confident in the justice of our demands, realizing the right of all nations and states to peace and prosperity, and we know that our demands are supported by the unity of all democratic and civilized states and their communities in sports.

Great international sport must stop the war, the killings and the genocide of people,” the statement said.
