– Yesterday, I met privately with the president of the international federation. Before the mobilization and the referendums, a neutral status was envisaged for our athletes, but now it is out of the question. This situation has greatly complicated the return of Russian athletes. But we are optimists, we believe in the best. Everyone has already started counting the losses. Obviously, due to the absence of Russia, the attention paid to the competitions is less.
The atmosphere here is normal, working, everyone communicates. But as always, there are interesting moments. The Norwegians wrote that they boycotted their coming here because of the presence of the Russian delegation in the committee. But they are there, everyone is talking, hugging,” Vyalbe said.
