Consideration of a withdrawal request Anastasia Davydova of the Presidium of the Russian Synchronized Swimming Federation could take place at the end of October, Olga Brusnikina, first vice-president of the Federation, told .
Earlier on Thursday, Russian national team head coach Tatyana Pokrovskaya told that five-time Olympic champion Davydova, who had previously left the country, wanted to leave the federation’s presidium.
– We sent her a request whether she will work for the benefit of Russian synchronized swimming or leave the presidium. She replied that she would send an official reply. So far, the response has only been in personal correspondence with the responsible secretary. In any case, we will only be able to consider this at the presidium on October 22, if we do not postpone, although this is unlikely, Brusnikina said.
A source told that the former Russian national team synchronized swimmer has moved to Dubai (UAE), where she is currently.
Davydova also serves as Secretary General of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). ROC chairman Stanislav Pozdnyakov said earlier he was unaware of Davydova’s departure from Russia, noting that her powers would be extended until the Olympic meeting scheduled for December.
