“Chekhov Bears” defeated SKA Minsk in the opening match of the SEHA-Gazprom Handball League

“Chekhov Bear” beat Minsk S.K.A. in the opening match of the SEHA-Gazprom Handball League.

The meeting, which took place at the Olympic Sports Palace named after VS Maksimov in Chekhov, ended in victory for the hosts with a score of 34:26.

The Chekhov Bears handball club is 21 times champion of Russia and 10 times winner of the Russian Cup.

In July, representatives of the Russian Handball Federation and the Belarusian Handball Federation signed an agreement with SEHA-Gazprom Liga to participate in the tournament. Each country is represented by four teams which became the best in the national championships last season.

SEHA-Gazprom Liga is a South-East European handball association, founded in 2011 on the initiative of the sports federations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Croatia and Montenegro to develop handball in the Balkan region.
