The International Swimming Federation (FINA) Technical Congress has raised the age limit for diving to 16.
The meeting where the decision was made was held online.
This proposal came from Switzerland: not to allow athletes and athletes who have not reached the age of 16 on December 31 of the corresponding year to participate in the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup world.
44 people voted in favor of raising the age limit, 13 voted against and 3 abstained.
At the Tokyo Olympics, 14-year-old Chinese Quan Hongchang won the individual tower event.
