Men’s synchronized swimming solo will be on the program of the World Aquatic Championships from 2023.

The Technical Congress of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) voted for it during an online meeting.

At the European Championships, the first solo medals were contested in 2022 in Rome. The two gold medals – in the technical and free – were won by the Italian Giorgio Minisini. Four-time world champion in mixed duets Alexander Maltsev did not play at the tournament – the Russians were not allowed this departure in the context of the situation with Ukraine, but showed a new program at the Games of the ‘friendship.
