Agreement is still far away
Forward RB Leipzig Christopher Nkunku did not sign a preliminary contract with Chelsea.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea head coach Graham Potter and club owner Todd Boeli are really interested in the transfer of the Frenchman and negotiations were underway, but no one signed the documents.
Earlier it was reported that Chelsea have already agreed on the terms of a personal contract with Nkunku and the deal will be completed within a few weeks.
In the summer, Nkunku signed a new contract with the Bulls until the end of the 2026 season. Bayern and Manchester United were interested in the striker, but the 24-year-old Frenchman decided to stay in Leipzig.
At the end of last season, Christopher was recognized as the best player in the Bundesliga. In the new season, Nkunku made 12 appearances for Leipzig in all competitions and scored 8 goals.
Chelsea are fifth in the Premier League with 13 points from seven games. In the next match of the championship of England, the Londoners will host Wolverhampton on October 8, having previously played on October 5 in the Champions League with Milan.
Shakhtar’s rival in the Champions League Leipzig will also play their next match on October 5, hosting Celtic.
