Athletistic/ Others. The Gymnastics Federations of Poland and Estonia have announced that they will not participate in the next Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), because. delegations from Russia and Belarus were admitted.

“Any other decision would be contrary to the values in which we deeply believe. It would also be incompatible with the position of the Polish Ministry of Sports and Tourism, and the enormous support of the Poles for the sanctions against Russia and Belarus. Our federation will do its utmost possible to participate in the preparatory work and share his views on the issues that will be discussed in Istanbul, but we will do it from Warsaw,” said Piotr Dec, General Secretary of the Polish Gymnastics Federation.

Previously, the federations of Norway and Ukraine had signaled the boycott of the FIG Congress in Istanbul. The Congress will be held from November 11 to 12. The event was originally scheduled to take place in October in Sandefjord, Norway. However, Norway refused to host the congress because Russians and Belarusians were allowed to attend. The Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Culture of Norway have recommended not to receive representatives of Russia and Belarus at events organized in the country.
