The athlete was not included in the application for the 2022 World Cup
Ukrainian gymnast Petr Pakhniuk, commenting on his absence in the application of the national team for the 2022 World Cup, he spoke about the conflict with the leadership of the national team.
“There is Ukraine, there is a team, there is gymnastics and there is a result, and taking personal relationships beyond business is wrong and unprofessional. So I’m moving on. I am not ending my career – the head will change, I will return and will continue to fulfill my duties.
“In the future, I would like not to continue this topic, because about gymnastics – and about me as well – I would like to hear and read the results of the competition, and not passions and conflicts. But if there are answers, I am not going to stop, because I declare and believe that the actions of the head coach are not objective, and the explanations are far from true.
Earlier, Pakhnyuk asked to be fired from among the athletes on the balance sheet of the Ministry of Youth and Sports at his own request.
Pakhnyuk was not included in the national team for the upcoming World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The coach of the national team, Gennady Sartinsky, commented on his decision, calling his actions “work with an eye to the future.”
The World Championship kicks off in Liverpool on October 29th and runs until November 6th. 14 sets of awards will be drawn.
