Belgian team close to qualifying for Champions League playoffs
Bruges won at home Atlético (2:0) in the match of the 3rd round of the group stage Champions League.
Toward the end of the first half, Kamal Sowa put the Belgian team ahead. After the break, Ferran Hutgla scored the second goal for Brugge.
In the 76th minute, Atlético could close the gap in the score, but Antoine Griezmann missed the penalty.
Ukrainian defender Eduard Sobol came on as a substitute in the 78th minute of the meeting. Forward Roman Yaremchuk spent the entire match on the bench.
Brugge have won their third consecutive game in Group B and are six points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. Atlético are in fourth place with three points.
On October 12, Atlético and Brugge will play in Madrid in the 4th round of the Champions League.
