Russian ultra-long distance swimmer Anton Losev spoke about the problems faced by participants in such swims.
– One cannot do without mental preparation over long distances. In my case, before the swim, I mentally swam my 50k and visualized several times how everything would go. Although only two people in Russia have decided on such a distance, it requires a lot of psychological work on oneself. You need to figure out how much you can handle. Because someone’s head is torn off, glitches begin, thoughts: “But why is this necessary? I am no one at all, I will not succeed,” Losev told The Championship.
In August, Losev covered a distance of 50 km – a distance of 25 km in each direction – in 18 hours 43 minutes 45 seconds, setting a record.
