Seven cyclists from a team were disqualified for doping

Seven Portuguese cyclists from the W52‑FC Porto team have been suspended for varying periods for consuming banned substances. This is stated in the message of the Anti-Doping Authority of Portugal, which refers to the publication A Bola.

The winner of the Tour of Portugal 2019, João Rodrigues, received a total of seven years of prohibition: four years for inconsistencies in the biological passport and three more for “possession of a prohibited substance”.

Samuel Caldeira, José Neves, Daniel Mestre and Ricardo Vilea Ricardo Mestre and Ruy Viñas were banned for three years each for possession of various illicit drugs.
