The FFKKR drew up a code of ethics in which it advised skaters “not to answer hypothetical questions”

The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) announced on its official website the creation of a code of ethics.

The Code is a set of general principles of professional ethics and basic rules of professional conduct for those who make up the professional figure skating community.

In the section “Particularities of the professional ethics of athletes”, skaters are offered:

– maintain self-control in the event of defeat, paying due tribute to the victory and the skill of the adversary;

– refrain from negative public statements, judgments and evaluations of the performance of rivals during the competition;

– do not answer hypothetical questions (“what if…?”, etc.);

– do not discuss problems, the solution of which is under discussion;

– remember that any information posted in personal social networks can be used in the media such as an athlete’s opinion, his statement, the position of the organization he represents, etc.

In March, due to the situation in Ukraine, Russian athletes were suspended from participating in international competitions under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU) until further notice.
