Vyalbe commented on maintaining FIS quotas for Russians for 2022/23 World Cup

President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe told that the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) retention of quotas for Russian skiers for the 2022/23 World Cup has nothing to do with their admission to competitions under the organization’s auspices.

Russian athletes can no longer participate in tournaments under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS) due to suspension. On Friday, October 7, it became known that the FIS had withheld quotas for athletes from the Russian Federation to participate in the Cross-Country World Cup in the 2022/23 season.

– You know, I would prohibit at the legislative level certain media from discussing information that has not been confirmed by anything or anyone. Because yesterday a number of your colleagues, after reading the quota information, started publishing it as news about the admission of Russia. We skiers or snowboarders. But that is absolutely not true. This information means nothing: the quotas that the FIS kept were won at the end of the last winter season, and they could not go anywhere. Nothing is officially known about the upcoming season: will they let us in or not, how points will be awarded, etc. Vyalbe told a correspondent.
