“After a free program at 9:30 am at the Olympics, who cares!” —Mishina and Gallyamov

Russian figure skaters Anastasia Michina and Alexander Gallyamov after running a free program at the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial, they explained why it was necessary to complicate the content.

On October 8, at the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial in St. Petersburg, couples presented free programs. Mishina and Gallyamov scored a total of 245.89 points and took the overall first place.

– We adhere to the position: we must train both in training and in competition. This tournament was therefore an opportunity for us to test our programs in a public atmosphere. It turned out almost everything. There were a few shortcomings. But we coped with the main tasks.

– Do you plan to complicate the program?

– Without a doubt. Guys who are even younger are actively picking themselves up. We see how they try to complicate their content. Of course, we also try not to sit still.

How about learning the quadruple throw?

“To be honest, we are learning a lot. As soon as the outlier is obtained in a stable, more or less secure way, we will start inserting it into the programs. Most learn multi-turn jumps on the show to get a feel for how that jump feels. That’s what we’re working on right now.

– At this start, you obtained marks clearly higher than your world record. What do you think of the fact that points are often overestimated in internal tournaments?

– For our country, everything is official, so we will only improve. The numbers are beautiful!

– Do you have the next tournament in a month? How is the training process planned for this period?

“We are already seasoned athletes and we know how to overcome difficulties. After the free skating at 9:30 am at the Olympics, who cares! – skaters told reporters.
