Figure skater Daniil Samsonov announced that he would soon be using a triple axel in his programs.
Samsonov scored 224.13 points on the sum of two programs at the Panin-Kolomenkin Memorial in St. Petersburg.
– The triple axis is near. Soon it will be possible to insert it into programs. Quadruple later. First I want to conquer the axel, execute it in the court, in order to have a small margin for the freestyle. Well, during the season I will try to restore all jumps – not just my favorites. You have to be able to do everything. Because one week can take a leap, and the following week it’s not the same thing.
– What is your favorite jump?
“I like lutz, flip and salchow,” Samsonov told reporters.
