Ukraine will be represented by two athletes at the 2022 Cycling Track World Championships instead of three

For Alla Biletskaya, they did not have time to issue travel allowances, Kirill Tsarenko was replaced by Nikita Yakovlev

Ukraine will be represented by two athletes at the 2022 Track Cycling World Championships.

Earlier it was reported about the participation of three riders – Elena Starikova, Alla Biletskaya and Kirill Tsarenko. However, in the end, Biletskaya did not go to the competition, and Tsarenko replaced Nikita Yakovlev.

It is reported that the Ministry of Youth and Sports was unable to arrange a business trip for Alla Biletskaya at public expense, since the former president of the Ukrainian Cycling Federation Andriy Grivko did not inform in time that the athlete received a quota for performance. Regarding Tsarenko, he was not included, because the rider did not score the required number of points (250) to compete in the world championship.

In turn, Andrei Grivko said that he had sent letters to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, but had not received a single response to them.

Ukraine was able to get only four licenses for the competition. Due to missing the World Cup stages, Ukrainian athletes did not manage to score enough rating points. Ukraine did not use the license for the women’s points race at the competitions.

The 2022 Track Cycling World Championships will take place from 12 to 16 October.
